I have a supreme weakness for books. And a supreme weakness for sales -- which is probably the korean in me. I can't help it. When I see sales signs...or when I'm walking down the street and I see that goods have been laid out for a yard sale, I HAVE to go and look. There's something within me that wants the good deal, or is just hopeful to find something amazing.
This is why used bookstores are my kryptonite. If you can snare a trap for hipsters by placing a Pabst, Junky camera, and some obscure indie records...you could probably put simply put a "for sale" sign and a small pile of books to lure me anywhere.

One of my biggest dreams is to live in a house that has bookshelves for walls. I want to read every book! I want to own musty books! I want to be surrounded by books!
This is why my own well-being and my wallet are in severe danger from living where I do. This past weekend, I went to seven different used bookstores in the area. There's one in Seattle that has Happy Hour every day after 6 PM. All of the books in the store are 25% off!!
Every time I go into a bookstore, I make a huge pile of books I want to read/buy...and then with a great wrenching of my soul, I set them aside because I do not have the funds to buy them. Right now. Don't worry, books. I'll be back for you soon! And in the meantime, I apologize heartily to all the employees of the bookstores I haunt since I'm creating extra work for you.

In the meantime though, I've been frequenting the numerous libraries in the area. Seattle Central Library is majestic and easy on the eyes. And get this: they have books that you can take out completely on honor system...for those people that can't obtain a library card for whatever reason.
The only qualm I have with it is that there's always a (different) couple making out in the reading area whenever I visit. Why?
PS. Today marks a month since I've moved to Seattle!
