I started a post earlier regarding my musician yips, but it wasn't really going anywhere. On the other hand, the yips are (apparently) here to stay, so you'll probably hear about them at a later date.
As Joshua Radin says though, I can't get to bed, but I'm tired. Also, I realized I hadn't yet put up a Link Friday post and in efforts to remain faithful to a schedule, I'm going to try and concoct something (although by the time this is done, it will most likely be a Saturday post! Ah well...).
I want to preface this post though by saying how much I love my sister. She's kind of the person I look up to...which might sound a little funny, considering she's almost a decade younger than I am. But in my eyes, I've always considered her my Mary Poppins -- practically perfect in every way.
Admittedly though, she can't make cough syrup taste magically delicious (and turn all sorts of vibrant colors) and she can't clean up the room with just a snap of her fingers. As a digression, I have to admit that when I was a kid, I was convinced this was most certainly possible...and the only reason I wasn't getting in on this magic cleaning action was because I couldn't snap. Oh the frustration my disability caused me...

Anyway, the reason I bring this up is because of a recent conversation I had with my sister where I said that it's a blessing to have relationships to miss.
We're constantly moving around -- going somewhere for school, moving somewhere for work, meeting people, leaving people, joining clubs, having quarter-life crises, getting together for gigs, falling in love, breaking up, rearranging priorities...or not.
But even as I find myself missing people, I truly think that it's a blessing to have these relationships...and to have people to miss. It'd be a sad thing indeed to not miss anyone or care about leaving anyplace.
This does come with a caveat though! Relationships -- along with anything else that's worthwhile -- take effort and time to make and keep good. :) It's easy to let things slide, especially when distance and time are factors.
Consequently (just to try and make a segue, even if it isn't a good one), the link for today is:
Lifehacker
This is the first link I ever bookmarked on my browser. It's probably the best thing out there to help you WIN in all aspects of life. This link is particularly effective now because there are articles up on traveling (for those of you going to see the ones you miss for this Thanksgiving season) and gizmodo has a cheat sheet of Black Friday gadget deals.
This website has everything though...I've seen articles about the biggest treehouse in the world (my inner child had a field day with that one) to DIY hacks and fix-ups around the house. :)
And now it's time for sleep.
