here are the best things about a visit back home in the Pacific Northwest:

1). family (aka the madre and izmeister).
2). RAIN. (it has been pouring rain EVERY day this week and I jump for joy constantly because of it.  Really.  Ask my sister).
3). driving.  (I'm the public transit wench everywhere else I go...but at home it feels so good to be behind the wheel again)
4). driving + rain or driving + the middle of the night.  (it's just really nice even if there's not a specific destination).
5). rain + my favorite place (...which I won't disclose.  favorite = private :D).

Admittedly, it's a bit colder than the wretchedly too sunny California...which means that my family layers clothing and huddles together and we wrap blankets around ourselves constantly as we roam around our home pretending they're greek togas in order to save on the heating.

a party every day in our household.
For all of you sad saps that don't live up north like I do, you can implement the following link:

Rainy Mood

In case you really want to hear the sound of rain...Or if you want to pretend you're in a rainforest...Put on some sad piano music at the same time and pretend you're the heroine (or hero, I guess) of a weepy korean drama.  Use it to create atmosphere as you stare out the window with your emo thoughts and nostalgic recollections.

Go wild.
