At the time, I'm sure that last question was meant to break the ice in a sort of funny way. But in retrospect, it made the whole thing seem like a singles mixer or something. Also, now when people say they're "taken", it immediately makes me think of:
Another funny/weird word connotation I've been getting lately is that when people say the word "smashing" as a compliment, I think of gentlemen in top hats sitting around a table at a country club, holding tea-cups (with their pinkies sticking up into the air), and saying "rather smashing, I'd say!" "Pip pip cheerio!" in British accents.
Admittedly, I appreciate the Hulk a little more since this last Avengers outing, but I am so curious about his pants. It's the age-old question. What kind of pants does he wear that they can stay on his over-sized, green Hulk frame? It's one of those small details that never fails to bug me even though I'm probably supposed to automatically suspend belief.
Amongst those annoying details in the superhero universe is the fact that everyone seems to be oblivious to the fact that Superman and Clark Kent look exactly alike, except for the glasses and the iconic curl of hair on the forehead.
On a similar note though, I rewatched Batman Begins last night for the first time in a while, and realized anew how spectacular that movie is.
It's smashing, if I do say so myself.
